The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Nov. 11, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Brent Stadler has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Algonquin Power & Utilities. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Stadler gave his share target a 25-cent boost to $7 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $6.57. Mr. Stadler says in a note: "Our view remains that the highly talented team at Algonquin Power is the primary reason it could become a premium utility. This team aims to drive expected cohesion between all key stakeholders and achieve reasonable outcomes from the pending rate cases. If Algonquin Power fully improves its financial performance and becomes steady and predictable, it could become an engine of economic growth for its utility jurisdictions. While in the early innings, Algonquin Power is executing and has near-term catalysts." The Globe reported on March 11 and Oct. 10 that Mr. Stadler rated Algonquin "hold" and then "buy." The shares could then be had for $6.78 and $5.79.
