The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 10, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Brent Stadler is keeping his "buy" ranking for Algonquin Power & Utilities intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Stadler gave his share target a 50-cent boost to $6.75 (all figures U.S.). Mr. Stadler says in a note: "We maintained our estimates ahead of 3Q25 results and remain in line with consensus. Higher cooling degree days in Missouri could be a slight tailwind on core EPS. We believe Algonquin trades at a discount to peers on execution risk, and the recent non-unanimous settlement in Missouri is a step toward derisking guidance. Therefore, we have bumped our valuation P/E to 18 times (from 17 times), which increased our target to $6.75. We expect Algonquin to continue to execute, which should close the valuation gap vs peers. We continue to believe Algonquin has a top-notch management team and that investors should be buying the stock as it executes toward becoming a premium utility." The Globe reported on March 11 that Mr. Stadler rated Algonquin "hold." It was then worth $6.78. The Globe reported on Aug. 12 that TD Cowen analyst John Mould rated Algonquin"hold." It was then worth $5.76.
