ARCHON APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR

Ross Blusson has retired as a director of Archon Minerals Ltd. Mr. Blusson, a geologist and mining executive, has been a member of the board since Archon's inception in 1993. To fill the vacancy created by Mr. Blusson's retirement, the company is appointing Dr. Masoud Saidi as a director, effective immediately. Dr. Saidi holds a master of science in electronics engineering from Northeastern University as well as a doctor of dental medicine from the University of British Columbia. Prior to his current occupation as a dentist, Dr. Saidi flew commercial helicopters for mining exploration support in the Northwest Territories.

"We are deeply grateful to Ross for his decades of service to Archon," said Stewart Blusson, president and chief executive officer. "He has steadfastly looked after shareholder interest and he was a real stalwart for the company. In addition, he has been my most trusted confidante over the years.
