The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Nov. 10, edition that BMO Capital Markets analyst Tamy Chen has reaffirmed her "market perform" recommendation for AutoCanada. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Ms. Chen cut her share target back by $2 to $24. Analysts on average target the shares at $30.51. Ms. Chen says in a note: "The stock closed down over 20 per cent on the headline EPS miss. Versus BMO, the miss was largely in higher opex, partially offset by better GPUs in all segments. This quarter suggests that many dynamics of the past two years (strong used vehicle volume and GPU, F&I GPU) are beginning to normalize. The one area that remains surprisingly strong is new vehicle demand. We are cautiously optimistic on AutoCanada's agreement with Kijiji while we take a wait-and-see stance on Project Elevate." The Globe reported on March 6 that National Bank rated AutoCanada "sector perform." It was then worth $21.45. The Globe reported on April 7 and Aug. 15 that Ms. Chen was sticking with her "market perform" ranking for AutoCanada. The shares could then be had for $20.57 and $25.70.
