The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, May 26, edition that RBC Capital Markets analyst Sabahat Khan, in a report titled "A winding road ahead," assumed coverage of AutoCanada with a "sector perform" recommendation and $19 share target. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $26.95. Mr. Khan says in a note: "Although AutoCanada has made good progress since the 2018 management transition, we believe that macro factors and the potential for downward revisions to consensus earnings estimates are likely to limit upside potential in the share price over the near- to medium-term (our 2023/2024 EPS estimates are 24 per cent/11 per cent below consensus). Longer-term, we believe the company is well positioned to consolidate the fragmented dealership space." The Globe reported on Dec. 24 that CIBC World Markets analyst Krista Friesen had cut AutoCanada to "neutral" from "outperformer." It was then worth $23.10. The Globe reported on March 6 and May 8 that that National Bank analyst Maxim Sytchev rated AutoCanada "sector perform" when it was worth $21.45 and $16.61.
