The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, May 3, edition that BMO Capital analyst Ben Pham continues to rate Atco "outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Pham moved his share target to $50 from $49. Analysts on average target the shares at $45.71. Mr. Pham says in a note: "The Q1/24 earnings report supports our thesis that Alberta utility would return to earnings growth this year with higher regulated ROE's and rate base expansion. At the same time, the Atco structures earnings profile has become more sticky with sector diversification and has not experienced periodic earnings cliffs as it has historically. These positive fundamental changes for ACO.X warrant a valuation rerating (10 times forward P/E vs. 15.5 times large cap utility average)." The Globe reported on March 1 that RBC Capital analyst Maurice Choy had reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Atco. It could then be had for $38.12. The Globe reported on April 19 that CIBC World Markets analysts Robert Catellier and Mark Jarvi had reaffirmed their "outperformer" recommendation for Atco. The shares were then going for $36.57.
