The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 17, edition that Scotia Capital analysts have updated their price deck for natural gas, lowering their Henry Hub estimate for the year by about 4 per cent. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that the Scotia Capital analysts call Advantage Energy one of their "best ideas" for "Canadian natural gas exposure." They continue to rate Advantage Energy "sector outperform." Their share target fell by $2 to $16. Analysts on average target the shares at $12.53. The Scotia Capital analysts say in a note: "Most attractive gas-weighted mid-cap name. Top tier Montney asset base; Highest implied return on our valuation formula; clean balance sheet and low cost structure increase flexibility and offer lower risk natural gas exposure; clear line of sight on production (and cash flow) growth; essentially free option on Entropy Inc." The Globe reported on Dec. 1 that National Bank analyst Dan Payne rated Advantage Energy "outperform" when it could be had for $9.24. The Globe reported on Dec. 7 that Desjardins Securities analyst Chris MacCulloch had reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Advantage Energy. The shares could then be had for $8.62.
