The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that National Bank Financial analyst Dan Payne has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Advantage Energy. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Payne boosted his share target by a loonie to $12. Analysts on average target the shares at $12.76. Mr. Payne says in a note: "The outlook for compounding returns through prudent reinvestment complemented by buybacks remains the theme, and which continues to emphasize a high-efficiency value proposition even through a restrained gas price environment. Advantage Energy is poised for a 22-per-cent return profile (vs. peers 20 per cent) on leverage of 0.5 times (vs. peers zero times), while trading at 3.6 times 2024 estimated EV/DACF [enterprise value to debt-adjusted cash flow] (vs. peers 3.4 times)." The Globe reported on June 17, 2022, that Mr. Payne was taking a bullish stance on the Canadian energy sector. He said he was expecting the outperformance to continue. Mr. Payne continued to rate Advantage Energy "outperform." The shares could then be had for $8.97. The Globe reported on Oct. 31 that Stifel analyst Michael Dunn had kept Advantage at "buy." It was then worth $10.07.
