Alex Walker and Eric Zitzewitz Join Board of Directors of Ledyard Financial Group, Inc.

HANOVER, N.H., Sept. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ledyard Financial Group, Inc. (OTCQX®: LFGP) (the “Company”), the holding company for Ledyard National Bank (the “Bank”), today announced the appointment of two local business leaders, Alex Walker and Eric Zitzewitz, to the Board of Directors, effective September 24, 2026.

Alex and Eric both have deep relationships throughout the business, legal, higher education, and civic communities in the region, and will provide invaluable insight that we are certain will positively contribute to our future growth. The addition of these two directors furthers our recent efforts to expand our Board expertise across the region, including bringing on Patrick Tufts and Betsey Rhynhart to represent the southern region of New Hampshire, and Jenny Williams representing the Upper Valley.”

Alex Walker is the Executive Director of the Catholic Health Care Foundation of Greater Manchester, bringing more than 30 years of leadership as a healthcare executive and attorney. From 2021 – 2025, Walker served as President & CEO of Catholic Medical Center, a 330-bed acute care hospital, in Manchester, NH. Prior to becoming CEO, Walker held senior roles at CMC, including General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining CMC in 2012, he was a litigator at the Manchester law firm of Devine Millimet, where he also served as President, for six years. A longtime Manchester resident and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Walker has been deeply engaged in the community where he has held numerous civic and board leadership positions, including Chair of the University System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees, Chair of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Palace Theater and Chair of the Granite United Way. Walker holds degrees from Northeastern University School of Law and the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and has received several awards for civic and professional service, including the Business and Industry Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the New Hampshire Hospital Association President’s Award, the Pastoral Counseling Services Good Samaritan Award, and the Daniel Webster Council Distinguished Citizen Award.

Eric Zitzewitz is a Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research with over 30 years of experience navigating regulated environments and complex financial and governance structures. His teaching and research focus on finance, including asset management, prediction markets, insurance, and related topics. Zitzewitz has published in top journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Review, and Journal of Financial Economics, with notable articles on fund performance erosion, prediction markets, and event studies. Prior to Dartmouth, he taught at Stanford and Columbia business schools and has held visiting positions at INSEAD, the Center for Economic Studies in Munich, and Google. Zitzewitz is a co-inventor on three patents owned by ICE Data Services related to the valuation of bonds and international equities, and he has served as an expert witness in cases involving asset management. He holds a PhD in Economics from MIT and an AB in Economics from Harvard College.

The Company also announced today the recent retirement of three members of the Board of Directors, including Andrew Samwick who was with Ledyard for 20 years, Margaret Rightmire who was with Ledyard for 15 years, and Teresa Rosenberger who was with Ledyard for 8 years.
