Jushi Holdings Inc. Applauds President Trump and Administration for Delivering on Cannabis Rescheduling to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act

2026-04-23 09:43 ET - News Release

BOCA RATON, Fla., April 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Jushi Holdings Inc.(“Jushi” or the “Company”) (CSE: JUSH) (OTCQX: JUSHF), a vertically integrated, multi-state cannabis operator, applauds President Donald J. Trump and his administration for finalizing the rescheduling of cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act.

This bold and historic action represents a clear example of promises made and promises kept. The administration’s move reflects a commonsense commitment to listening to science, advancing medical research and delivering meaningful reform. This continues to put an America First approach to work by supporting American patients, businesses and communities.

This milestone marks one of the most significant federal cannabis policy shifts in decades, formally recognizing the medical value of cannabis and advancing long-overdue regulatory modernization.

Rescheduling cannabis does not legalize cannabis at the federal level but it is a meaningful step toward destigmatizing the plant, unlocking federally supported research and expanding patient access. It also removes burdensome tax penalties and creates significant opportunities for reinvestment into the cannabis state programs which will continue to fuel job creation, economic growth and increased tax revenue for state and local communities.

Jushi believes this milestone lays the groundwork for continued progress while reinforcing the importance of evidence-based policymaking and responsible regulation.

“We have been working hard for years to advance sensible cannabis reform, and we thank President Trump and his administration for their leadership, hard work and commitment to getting this done for the American people,” said Jim Cacioppo, Chief Executive Officer of Jushi.

“Today marks an important moment in the history of U.S. drug policy. President Trump’s decision to move cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III acknowledges what millions of Americans already know and what a rapidly expanding body of clinical evidence demonstrates: cannabis should be responsibly regulated, not prohibited,” continued Cacioppo, who added that “Jushi looks forward to discussing this development with the President’s supporters holding office in states like Pennsylvania where lawmakers continue to block reform efforts on the basis of demonstrably inaccurate prohibitionist ideology.”
