2026-07-20 16:15 ET - News Release

Actively managed ETF seeks current income through a portfolio of preferred securities issued by U.S. companies

NEW YORK -- (Business Wire)

Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. (NYSE: VRTS) today announced the launch of the Virtus InfraCap Preferred and Income Securities ETF (NYSE Arca: VPFF), an actively managed exchange-traded fund subadvised by Infrastructure Capital Advisors, LLC ("Infrastructure Capital"). The newly introduced fund is the 27th ETF offered through Virtus’ multi-manager ETF platform, Virtus ETF Solutions.

The fund invests primarily in U.S. preferred securities and uses an active management approach intended to address risks associated with callable securities, changing interest rate environments, and issuer concentration. The portfolio management team evaluates investment opportunities through market analysis, fundamental research, and ongoing portfolio review.

“In the current market environment, investors are seeking high income with low volatility,” said Jay Hatfield, CEO and CIO of Infrastructure Capital. “VPFF seeks to offer investors the benefits of a high-yielding diversified basket of preferred stocks, with rigorous and active risk management.”

“The launch of VPFF further strengthens Virtus’ position as a leading provider of preferreds strategies within the ETF market. Investor demand has been consistent for an unlevered version of the Virtus InfraCap U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (PFFA), one of the largest active preferred ETFs,” said William J. Smalley, executive managing director, Virtus ETF Solutions. “VPFF applies Infrastructure Capital’s active investment process and implementation techniques in a portfolio that is designed for investors seeking current income with an emphasis on disciplined security selection and risk management.”

Risk Considerations
Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs): The value of an ETF may be more volatile than the underlying portfolio of securities it is designed to track. The costs to the portfolio of owning shares of an ETF may exceed the cost of investing directly in the underlying securities. Issuer Risk: The portfolio will be affected by factors specific to the issuers of securities and other instruments in which the portfolio invests, including actual or perceived changes in the financial condition or business prospects of such issuers. Equity Securities: The market price of equity securities may be adversely affected by financial market, industry, or issuer-specific events. Focus on a particular style or on small, medium, or large-sized companies may enhance that risk. Non-Diversified: The portfolio is not diversified and may be more susceptible to factors negatively impacting its holdings to the extent the portfolio invests more of its assets in the securities of fewer issuers than would a diversified portfolio. Market Price/NAV: At the time of purchase and/or sale, an investor’s shares may have a market price that is above or below the fund’s NAV, which may increase the investor’s risk of loss. Market Volatility: The value of the securities in the portfolio may go up or down in response to the prospects of individual companies and/or general economic conditions. Local, regional, or global events such as war or military conflict, terrorism, pandemic, or recession could impact the portfolio, including hampering the ability of the portfolio’s manager(s) to invest its assets as intended. Prospectus: For additional information on risks, please see the fund’s prospectus.
