STAMFORD, Conn. -- (Business Wire)
Insurance companies are rapidly adopting the Duck Creek core software platform and related services to replace legacy systems and build agile, digital-first operations, according to a new research report published today by Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm.
The 2026 global ISG Provider Lens® Duck Creek Services Ecosystem report finds that insurers are accelerating core system modernization through the Duck Creek ecosystem in response to rising customer expectations, regulatory demands and competitive pressures. The industry is rapidly shifting to software as a service (SaaS) to enable continuous innovation and measurable business outcomes.
“Insurers are redefining core transformation as part of long-term modernization strategies that often include adopting Duck Creek services,” said Dennis Winkler, director, Insurance, at ISG. “In well-managed environments, Duck Creek’s SaaS model pays dividends in efficiency and operational flexibility long after initial deployment.”
Insurers are moving from project-based implementations to holistic approaches that deliver measurable benefits throughout their operations even after new systems go live, the report says. These strategies span both the building and running of core systems, emphasizing outcomes such as faster product launches and improved customer experiences. For many enterprises, Duck Creek adoption aligns with broader digital strategies to remain competitive as markets evolve.
Enterprises are implementing Duck Creek’s OnDemand SaaS offering to enable continuous upgrades and reduce operational disruption, ISG says. The model is designed to let an insurer maintain current capabilities while scaling operations efficiently. Modernization strategies also include strengthening migration and integration processes to ensure data integrity and seamless connectivity across complex ecosystems.
AI capabilities embedded within the Duck Creek platform are becoming central to enterprise implementations, the report says. Insurers are using AI in production for operational intelligence, applying it to use cases such as claims triage, underwriting support and document processing to improve speed and accuracy. On the software development side, AI-based tools are enhancing release quality and accelerating delivery cycles in Duck Creek implementations.
“Enterprises are using Duck Creek services in unified modernization programs that combine SaaS delivery, AI and integration with existing systems,” said Manav Deep Sachdeva, principal analyst, ISG Provider Lens Research, and lead author of the report. “Service providers are essential to enabling continuous upgrades, stable operations and innovation in Duck Creek environments.”
The report also explores other trends in Duck Creek services, including expanded adoption of adjacent capabilities such as payments and analytics and an increasing focus on multi-region deployment requirements.
