GHRI progress is on track to prevent 150 million customer outage minutes in 2026

HOUSTON, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, CenterPoint Energy released its latest GHRI update on the monumental progress it is making to build the most resilient coastal grid in the nation. As of Sept. 30, nearly 3,000 crew members are currently mobilized across the Greater Houston area on GHRI and have installed more than 83,500 storm-resilient poles, cleared more than 14,000 miles of higher-risk vegetation to reduce storm-related outages and undergrounded 900 miles of power lines to strengthen overall resiliency. Given the current progress of the company's resiliency efforts, CenterPoint's GHRI program is projected to prevent 150 million customer outage minutes in 2026, while also improving day-to-day reliability.

"Our historic GHRI progress continues, and we remain focused on building a more resilient and reliable grid for the millions of customers we are privileged to serve. Across our great city, hundreds of our crew members are working every day to strengthen our infrastructure, and we will not stop until we build the most resilient coastal grid in the nation," said Nathan Brownell, CenterPoint Energy's Vice President of Resilience and Capital Delivery.
