Orange Insurance Services Commences Writing Policies and Exceeds Agency Growth Goals

Technology-Driven Florida Auto MGA Advances from Development to Active Operations as Distribution Network Continues to Expand

2026-09-24 09:01 ET - News Release

Chicago, Illinois--(Newsfile Corp. - September 24, 2026) - Orange Underwriters, LLC DBA Orange Insurance Services ("Orange"), a technology-driven managing general agency specializing in Florida non-standard personal automobile insurance, today announced that it is actively writing insurance policies in Florida, marking a significant milestone in the company's transition from development and market launch to active insurance operations.

Orange also announced that its independent agency distribution network has exceeded the company's original appointment goals, continuing the momentum established ahead of its August market launch.

The commencement of policy production represents the culmination of a series of operational milestones completed by Orange during 2026, including securing reinsurance capacity, establishing its fronting carrier relationship, building its underwriting and claims infrastructure, developing its technology platform, assembling an experienced management team, and establishing an independent agency distribution network throughout Florida.

"This is an important milestone for Orange because we have moved from building the company to operating the company," said Dean Kozlowski, Chief Executive Officer of Orange Underwriters. "Writing our first policies validates the work our team has done across underwriting, technology, compliance, claims, reinsurance and distribution. Just as importantly, the continued response from independent agents has exceeded our expectations and provides us with a strong foundation from which to grow."

Agency Network Exceeds Initial Expectations

Orange previously announced that it had secured commitments from 50 independent insurance agencies before writing its first policy, achieving its original launch objective ahead of schedule. The company subsequently targeted 75 to 100 agency relationships during its first month of operations.

Since beginning operations, Orange has continued expanding its distribution network and has exceeded its initial agency appointment goals with active appointments exceeding 150 agencies.

Management believes the pace of agency interest reflects demand among Florida independent agents for additional non-standard automobile insurance capacity, competitive products, responsive service and technology designed to simplify quoting and policy servicing.

"Our strategy has always been to build distribution deliberately, working with quality independent agencies that understand the Florida non-standard automobile market," Kozlowski said. "The early response from agents has been encouraging, and we believe our growing distribution footprint gives Orange an increasingly valuable platform for premium growth."

Key Operating Milestones Achieved

The commencement of policy production follows several significant milestones achieved by Orange during 2026.

Orange secured reinsurance capacity designed to support up to $25 million of premium during its first year of operations, with additional capacity contemplated as the business grows.

The company also secured a fronting carrier relationship providing the admitted insurance paper and regulatory infrastructure supporting the Orange program, while Orange is responsible for underwriting, distribution, claims and program management.

Orange has simultaneously continued building the infrastructure necessary to support growth, including underwriting operations, claims management, regulatory and legal capabilities, agency support and technology-driven policy administration.

The company also assembled a Strategic Advisory Board with experience across underwriting, distribution, reinsurance, capital markets, regulatory matters and insurance operations.

Together, management believes these milestones have established the core infrastructure necessary to transition Orange from an insurance startup into a scalable operating MGA.

Focus Shifts to Disciplined Premium Growth

With policies now being written and its agency network continuing to expand, Orange's focus is shifting toward increasing policy production while maintaining underwriting discipline.

The company's strategy is to identify attractive segments of Florida's non-standard automobile insurance market where disciplined pricing, experienced underwriting and modern technology can create opportunities for profitable growth.

Orange's technology-enabled operating model is designed to improve efficiency throughout the insurance lifecycle, including quoting, underwriting, policy administration, billing, claims and communication with independent agents.

"Our objective isn't simply to write premium — it is to build a durable and scalable insurance business," Kozlowski added. "We believe disciplined underwriting, experienced people, strong agency relationships and efficient technology are the foundation for creating long-term value. We are pleased with the progress we have made, but we view the commencement of policy production as the beginning of the next phase of Orange's development."

Doug Stukel, Chief Executive Officer of HPN Holdings, Inc. (OTCID: KICK), commented:

"Orange has continued to execute against the milestones established when we completed the acquisition earlier this year. The company has secured its insurance capacity, built its operating infrastructure, exceeded its initial distribution objectives and is now writing policies. We are excited to see Orange move into the revenue-generating phase of its business plan and look forward to supporting the team as it continues to scale."
