Vancouver promoter Gordon Brent Pierce is seeking an injunction in the Supreme Court of British Columbia against Rahim Jivraj to halt production of a newsletter titled "Public Company Fraud Alert," which he claims is damaging his "unique and irreplaceable" reputation. Mr. Pierce says the newsletter falsely accuses him of reaping hundreds of millions of dollars from innocent victims and of defrauding investors of one particular company, OTC Bulletin Board listing Tresoro Mining Corp. The newsletter may have been distributed to thousands of people, and must be stopped to prevent further damage, Mr. Pierce contends.
The request is contained in an application Mr. Pierce filed on Monday, April 30, at the Vancouver courthouse. In it, he describes how his lawyer and others received a highly defamatory newsletter in February, 2012, that claimed to have been distributed to "over 5400 market related professionals."
Among other things, the newsletter stated that Mr. Pierce had participated in an accounting fraud; is "offending still today"; has "reaped $100's of millions from innocent victims globally in his career"; has "defrauded investors in Tresoro Mining Corp."; has "committed notable civil, regulatory and criminal frauds"; exercises "hidden control" of a "manipulative pump-and-dump scheme"; and poses so great a risk to the public that the authorities should intervene.
