WILAN AND NEC ENTER WIRELESS LICENSE

NEC Corp. has entered into a licence agreement to Wi-LAN Inc.'s wireless patent portfolio including Wi-Fi, HSPA (high-speed packet access), CDMA (code division multiple access) and LTE-related (long-term evolution) technologies.

NEC is a leading multinational provider of telecom carrier equipment and was founded in 1899. This is the third licence that NEC has taken to Wi-LAN technologies.

The consideration to be paid to Wi-LAN and all other terms of the licence agreement are confidential.
