VELA MINERALS ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR

Brady Fletcher has resigned from the board of directors of Vela Minerals Ltd. Mr. Fletcher has accepted an appointment of managing director of the TSX Venture Exchange. As a requirement of this appointment, Mr. Fletcher has agreed to not participate as a board member of any company.

On behalf of the directors, Charles Chebry, chief executive officer of Vela Minerals, would like to thank Mr. Fletcher for his contributions to Vela Minerals in his role as director of the company and wishes him success in his new role as managing director of the TSX-V.
