Trevali drills 13.75 m of 99.18 g/t Ag at Santander

TREVALI REPORTS MULTIPLE HIGH-GRADE DRILL INTERCEPTS EXPANDS FATIMA ZONES AT SANTANDER MINE

Trevali Mining Corp. has released the results of five drill holes testing the deeper levels of the newly discovered Fatima zones at its Santander mine in Peru. All five drill holes intersected significant lead-silver-zinc mineralization at depth and to the east. The Fatima North and Fatima South zones occur in the footwall of the Magistral Central deposit and remain open for expansion at depth and to the east.

The Fatima zones trend subperpendicular (approximately 80 degrees to 85 degrees) to the main Magistral Central deposit. Fatima North is better defined and has current dimensions of 60 metres (west-east); it is approximately six metres thick and extends at least 150 metres down dip. Similar to the Rosa zone, the Fatima zones are thought to represent a later-stage, overprinting phase of replacement mineralization along a set of roughly east-west-trending feeder structures/veins.

Geologically, Fatima North and Fatima South are presently interpreted to potentially merge at depth; however, additional drilling is required in order to test this hypothesis.

Located in the footwall and within/subjacent to the existing underground development, the Fatima zones are readily accessible for incorporation into the Santander mine plan. The company has mobilized two underground and one surface drill rigs to site, and an approximate 5,000-metre drill campaign is in progress to further explore and define the newly discovered Fatima and Rosa zones. In addition, the drilling will provide deeper infill definition information on the Magistral deposits in order to facilitate long-range mine planning.

Assay results are shown in the attached table.

Qualified person and quality control/quality assurance

Dr. Mark D. Cruise, EurGeol, Trevali's president and chief executive officer, and Daniel Marinov, PGeo, Trevali's vice-president, exploration, qualified persons as defined by National Instrument 43-101, have supervised the preparation of the scientific and technical information that forms the basis for this news release. Mr. Marinov is responsible for all aspects of the work, including the quality control/quality assurance programs. Dr. Cruise is not independent of the company as he is an officer, director and shareholder. Mr. Marinov is not independent of the company as he is an officer and shareholder. Drill core samples were processed and assayed in the Santander mine's on-site laboratory. Zinc, lead and silver assays were obtained by aqua regia dissolution followed by atomic absorption measurement. Values of lead and zinc over 15 per cent are assayed by volumetric method. Analytical accuracy and precision are monitored by the analysis of reagent blanks, reference material and replicate samples. Quality control is further assured by the use of international and in-house standards. Blind certified reference material is inserted at regular intervals into the sample sequence by Trevali personnel in order to independently assess analytical accuracy. The on-site laboratory is outsourced and managed by SGS-Peru personnel. SGS-Peru's quality system complies with the requirements for the international standards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025: 1999. Finally, representative blind duplicate samples are routinely forwarded to an ISO-compliant third party laboratory for external quality control.
