The Successful Investor, in the February, 2017, issue, says hold Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc., recently $25. The Investor said buy four times from February, 2010, to April, 2013, at prices ranging from $41 to $122 (the stock split 3 for 1 on Feb. 14, 2011). Assuming a $1,000 investment for each of the four buys, the $4,000 position is now worth $2,500. In this brief update, the Investor says Potash's stock has nearly halved since early 2015, as a result of low potash prices caused by high global inventories. These inventories recently began to shrink, leading to higher demand for potash in the first quarter of 2017. Even so, the Investor expects that Potash will make little progress until it closes its merger with Agrium later this year. Hold.
