POSTMEDIA ANNOUNCES EDITORIAL APPOINTMENTS IN TORONTO AND OTTAWA
Postmedia Network Canada Corp. has made two editorial appointments -- Adrienne
Batra as editor of the Toronto Sun and Keith Bonnell as editor of the
Ottawa Sun.
Ms. Batra returns to the Toronto Sun -- she joined the newspaper in 2011
as comment editor and columnist before moving to the Sun News Network in
November, 2013, where she hosted a talk show and made regular appearances
as a political commentator on Newstalk 1010. Ms. Batra is a fierce and ruthlessly honest commentator on Toronto and its political
leaders, through her regular appearances on radio, television and
continuing columns in the Sun.
"We're absolutely delighted to have Adrienne back in the Sun family,"
said James Wallace, vice-president, editorial, Suns. "Adrienne brings
tremendous energy, political acumen and experience to our leadership
team. She is a perfect fit for the Sun -- tough, outspoken, informed and
determined to stick up for the little guy!"
Mr. Bonnell is currently the city editor at the Ottawa Citizen and has
held various newsroom roles across the organization, including senior
editor at Postmedia News, and managing editor of national news and sports
for Postmedia Editorial Services. He has worked in newsrooms across the
country, including The Globe and Mail, The Canadian Press, the Halifax
Daily News and the Calgary Herald.
"Keith has thrived in editorial leadership roles at Postmedia," said Lou
Clancy, senior vice-president, content, Postmedia. "We are excited to see
the innovative insight he will bring to his new role as editor of the
Ottawa Sun."
