Stockhouse Publishing Ltd. has won an interim injunction in the Supreme Court of British Columbia restraining Daryl MacAskill, also known as "stoxxman," from posting on its website. The injunction was handed down on Wednesday, April 18, by Justice Gregory Bowden, after Stockhouse argued that Mr. MacAskill was creating thousands of posts, many with "ugly and inflammatory language." The victory is a partial one, as the judge declined to permanently bar Mr. MacAskill from the site. The judge instead entered a restraining order that keeps Mr. MacAskill from using Stockhouse until the case can be scheduled for a full hearing.

The decision followed a one-hour argument by Stockhouse lawyer Ludmila Herbst, who contended that the content of many posts by Mr. MacAskill violated Stockhouse's terms of use. She presented 16 pages containing examples of his posts, which included: a photo that appeared to be an ad for penis enlargement; an image of a book cover titled "Best of Bondage Erotica," which referred to a user who "likes handcuffs"; a cartoon image of a donkey licking a naked man's buttocks; and a picture of a very obese woman wearing very little.

Do serious posters still visit Stockhouse? Really?? Who would have thought!

lets see, anonymous posting capabilities and free accounts available to anyone but no commenting or opinions allowed that differ from the party line?

anyone that believes a sane person cannot differentiate from mud slinging by anonymous posters that pay nothing for the account they are creating are just as insane as the naive rumor monger believers

ever wonder why the judges and lawyers can't wait to run up to the Gerard Lounge in the Sutton Place Hotel? oh wait, the judges rule against rumor, gossip and innuendo posted on free chat forums- obviously for the same reason they don't want to see their names posted with their dillydallyences, not sure why so many of the court assistants run around pantyless and flash up at Gerard Lounge- anyone guess why?
