GC-GLOBAL CAPITAL CORP.'S CHAIRMAN RETIRES FROM THE BOARD
Long-time chairman Gordon Ewart has retired from GC-Global Capital Corp.'s board of directors. Mr. Ewart has been chairman since co-founding the company in 2003. Prior to the formation of Global Capital, Mr. Ewart was a co-founder of Quest Capital Corp., a Toronto Stock Exchange-traded Canadian merchant bank with approximately $250-million in assets. He also co-founded three merchant banks, two of which were based in Toronto and one of which was based in Bermuda. The merchant banks, Resource Capital International Ltd., Paramount Funding Corp. and Grafco Ltd., were involved in all aspects of corporate and developmental finance for Canadian industrial and natural resource companies.
"Gord has provided the company with tremendous leadership and expertise over the past 12 years, guiding the company through numerous funding rounds, investment transactions and shifts in market dynamics," said Jason Ewart, chief executive officer of Global Capital. "We greatly appreciate his dedication and countless contributions to our company and its employees, client companies and shareholders."
The company has initiated an external search for a new chairman.
