Eastmain director Bryans dies

2015-08-04 13:45 ET - News Release

Dr. Donald Robinson reports

IN MEMORIAM: IAN BRYANS 1953 - 2015

The management and directors of Eastmain Resources Inc. are greatly saddened by the sudden passing of Ian Bryans. Mr. Bryans passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Aug. 1, 2015. The company offers its sincere condolences to his wife Lynn and their sons Matt and Shane, his parents Bill and Helen, sisters Wendy and Martha, and their respective families.

As a successful businessman, with over 30 years of experience as a strategic marketer and sales manager for the consumer products industry, Mr. Bryans worked with a number of prominent Canadian and international firms such as A.C. Nielsen Market Research, Alberto-Culver, L&F Consumer Products Canada, Sterling Drugs and Reckitt Benckiser before becoming president of Crossmark Canada Inc.

An entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Bryans was a founding partner in Mayfield Solutions Inc. and owner and president of CP Management Solutions, where he was involved in the boutique food and medical supply industries. He was an astute, accomplished and insightful individual, and an excellent sounding board for the company. His business expertise served him well as a distinguished member of Eastmain's independent board of directors for 10 years. Mr. Bryans also served as chairman of the compensation committee, chairman of the governance committee, member of the audit committee and member of the nominating committee.

Having attended the University of Western Ontario, where he was drafted to a five-year career in professional football, Mr. Bryans tirelessly gave to his community through his love of sports. He coached baseball and football, and mentored many aspiring young athletes in their early careers.

A kind and generous man, who had a warm smile and a firm handshake for everyone he met, Mr. Bryans was a positive influence on everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.

"Through his intelligence, wit and sincerity, Ian made the world a much better place. He was a true friend who deeply touched all who knew him," said Don Robinson. "Eastmain was privileged and honoured to have had Ian as part of our family. We will miss him dearly."

We seek Safe Harbor.
