ELECTRA STONE SHIPS FIRST 18 TONNES OF BC JADE TO CHINA

Electra Stone Ltd. has confirmed its first shipment of British Columbia nephrite jade to the People's Republic of China as part of the company's strategy of providing a vertically integrated solution connecting British Columbia jade mining directly to end buyers in China.

Electra has shipped an initial 18 tonnes of raw nephrite jade from the Port of Tsawwassen to the Port of Shanghai. Management of Electra will travel to Shanghai to receive the arriving jade as part of a reception with end buyers including jade carvers, manufacturers and resellers. Shanghai and the nearby region of Yangzhou are the largest importers of British Columbia nephrite jade and understand the historical and spiritual significance of nephrite jade as the "emperor's stone."

The similar geological environment in British Columbia provides the conditions to produce the same nephrite jade in British Columbia as the jade that has be sought after by the people of China for thousands of years," stated John Costigan, president and chief executive officer of Electra Stone.
