ELECTRA STONE LTD. APPOINTS JADE ADVISOR AND JOINS JADE INSTITUTE

Electra Stone Ltd. has appointed CiCi Yim to its advisory board. Electra has also become a supporting member of the Canada National Jade Research Institute to further the interests and applications of British Columbia jade.

Ms. Yim is an active fellow of the Canadian Gemological Association and holds a diploma of jadeite jade from the Hong Kong Institute of Gemology. She is the chief gemologist and jade specialist for 24K Gold Company Ltd. In addition, she is a Gemological Institue of America-accredited jewellery professional with an MBA in supply chain management from Birmingham University (United Kingdom), and a welcomed member of the Electra Stone jade marketing team.

Canada National Jade Research Institute was founded in May, 2014, in conjunction with the proclamation of B.C. Jade Day by the government of B.C. on May 28, 2014. Its purpose is to advance the awareness of the culture and value of the provincial gemstone.

Total sales and price of B.C. nephrite jade have reportedly increased significantly over the past several years, according to private producers. Increased interest in nephrite jade in Southest Asian countries, specifically China, is the primary reason for the rise in demand.
