Berkwood hits visual graphite in five more Gueret holes

2017-08-31 06:31 ET - News Release

Mr. Thomas Yingling reports

BERKWOOD DRILL PROGRAM CONTINUES TO INTERSECT GRAPHITE AT LAC GUERET SOUTH

Berkwood Resources Ltd. has completed five further holes on its Lac Gueret South graphite project located in Quebec, Canada. To date each hole has intersected visual graphite in the zone 1 area. The company anticipates completing up to nine further inclined drill holes (of between 60 metres and 120 metres in length) in this initial phase of work, for a total of 16 holes drilled on the company's phase 1 drill program.

Update of phase 1 drilling and visualization of graphite

The current drill program has seen completion of seven drill holes through BK1-01-17 to BK1-07-17 on four sites for a total of 851.7 m. The visual graphite intercepts for the first two drill holes on site No. 1, were press released on Aug. 22, 2017. Holes BK1-03-17 and BK1-04-17 are located at site No. 2 which is about 110 m north of site No. 1 and drilled toward the north at minus 45 degrees and minus 75 degrees, respectively. In hole BK1-03-17 (168.25 m length) visible graphite is observed over the intervals of 20.8 to 49.0 (28.2 m), 125.4 to 137.25 (11.85 m), 89.11 to 87.65 (1.46 m), 93.4 to 96.6 (3.2 m), 97.8 to 99.4 ((1.6 m), 104.65 to 107.4 (2.75 m) and 158.0 to 159.7 (1.7 m)). In hole BK1-04-17 (79.24 m), visible graphite is recorded continuously from 26.7 m to 79.24 m, in variable amounts and styles.

Site No. 3 is located about 65 m north of site No. 2 and is the focus of BK1-05-17 and BK1-06-17 drilled to the north at minus 45 degrees and minus 75 degrees, respectively. In hole BK1-05-17 (160.63 m) visible graphite is recorded over the intervals 29.74 to 43.86 (14.12 m), 58.93 to 63.93 (5.0 m), 70.99 to 80.63 (9.64 m) and 93.49 to 96.69 (3.2 m), while in hole BK1-06-17 (81.38 m) graphite is recognized over the intervals from 15.12 to 28.34 (13.22 m) and 53.2 to 54.34 (1.14 m).

Site No. 4 is located on cut line 3,200E, about 87 m east of the cut line 3,100E that hosts sites No. 1 to No. 3. It is the focus of BK1-07-17 drilled to the north at minus 45 degrees to 142.34 m (EOH). This hole has not been logged, though an interval of visible graphite is reported over 112.75 to 118.69 (5.94 m).

The reader is reminded that these drill intercepts do not represent true widths of the graphite-bearing zones intercepted.

Lac Gueret South is located in Cote Nord, Que., a three-hour drive from Baie-Comeau in an area with very good infrastructure. The project directly borders Mason Graphite's advanced Lac Gueret project to the south. Berkwood is targeting airborne and ground conductive anomalies at the Lac Gueret South's zone 1 location as part of this initial program, where two distinct electromagnetic conductors appear to occur over a two-kilometre strike length. The extent of the conductors and certain historic grab samples that returned visible graphite, corroborated by laboratory assays, motivated the present drilling program. The company also has well-developed targets at Lac Gueret South's zone 2, which is located immediately south of the Mason Graphite claim boundary and along strike from the graphite zones of Mason Graphite.

Tom Yingling, president and chief executive officer, stated: "I am pleased to provide continuing confirmation that we have intersected graphite in all of the first seven holes in our first drill program and have commenced plans to expand our work program. The electromagnetic conductors have proven very effective in identifying mineralized targets for drilling."

The program is being undertaken subject to two current drilling permits issued by regulators in Quebec.
