The Successful Investor, in its February, 2016, issue, says buy Andrew Peller Ltd., recently $20. The Investor said buy 24 times from October, 1998, to July, 2015, at prices ranging from $7.30 to $26 (the stock split 3 for 1 on Oct. 27, 2006). Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the 24 buys, the $24,000 position would now be worth $61,040. Peller is Canada's second-largest winemaker, after Constellation Brands. The company continues to release premium-priced brands. In the fiscal 2016 second quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015, Peller's sales rose to $85.2-million from $82.8-million a year earlier. Earnings increased to 51 cents a share in the latest quarter from 36 cents a share a year earlier. Excluding unusual items such as losses on foreign exchange hedging contracts, Peller's earnings increased by 58.1 per cent. The stock continues to be a buy.
