The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a 65-65-134 draw. The TSX Venture Exchange reclaimed 12 points, closing at 801 while polished diamond prices rose 0.1 per cent. Leni Keough's Olivut Resources Ltd. (OLV) gained three cents to 26 cents on 3,000 shares. Olivut remains focused -- when it manages to look at all -- on its HOAM diamond play south of Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories.

Negar Adam's Makena Resources Inc. (MKR), unchanged at three cents on 5,000 shares, has added a diamond tangent to its uranium hunt in the Athabasca region of northwestern Saskatchewan. The company has acquired 4,060 hectares of ground in the "direct vicinity" of the district's core project, where De Beers Canada has an option to acquire a majority interest in 17,400 hectares of ground from Peter Dasler's Canalaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV: $1.30). Makena is acquiring the DB Diamond prospect through a share purchase agreement with DB Diamond Holdings Inc. Makena will acquire the project by issuing 16 million shares to DB Diamond Holdings' owners: Graeme Sewell, MGK Consulting Inc. and Munir Ali.
