The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was an upbeat 41-27-168. The TSX Venture Exchange gained four points to 504 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Robert Gannicott and Brendan Bell's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) had another good day, gaining 49 cents to $15.19 on 330,000 shares. The stock, $9.96 in December, has moved higher since the company settled a dispute with dissident shareholders.
Quentin Yarie and Craig Scherba's Honey Badger Exploration Inc. (TUF), down one-half cent to 3.5 cents on 409,000 shares, has hired Dr. Felix Kaminsky to assist its management and board at the company's LG diamond project and help pick other projects. Mr. Yarie, president and chief executive officer, lauds Dr. Kaminsky as being "amongst the world's foremost diamond exploration consultants," but the long-time diamond guru for the former Soviet Union has also provided considerable promotional support for many of Canada's lesser diamond plays.
