The B.C. Securities Commission and the Vancouver Police Department have arrested Vancouver promoter Kelly Fielder, 43, charging him with fraud and theft over $5,000. The BCSC says he defrauded an investor by claiming to be raising money for a capital pool company. After receiving the money, he allegedly did not use it for the stated purpose.
Police arrested Mr. Fielder in Vancouver without incident on Thursday, Oct. 24, and he appeared before a provincial court judge that evening. The judge released him on bail of $25,000 and imposed conditions that include requiring him not to act as a director or officer of any company that sells, promotes or distributes securities. He also must not engage in any investor relations activities.
Few other details of the charges against Mr. Fielder are available. BCSC spokesman Richard Gilhooley says the amount of money that he allegedly took from the investor was over $100,000. The victim, as listed in court documents, was a man named Robert Davidson.
