WestJet Airlines Ltd. has introduced an exclusive WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard application offer on the payment page of the mobile version the company's website. The application makes it easy for WestJet guests to apply, get approved and immediately use the card to pay for their flight booking.

Approved cardholders receive:

• $50 credit on their first credit card statement;
• Free first checked bag for the primary cardholder and up to eight guests on their booking;
• Welcome bonus of 200 WestJet dollars redeemable for future travel with WestJet;
• Annual round-trip companion voucher starting from $99 (plus taxes and fees) anywhere WestJet flies;
• Ability to pay for current on-line booking all on the new card, right then and there.

WestJet will roll out the instant credit card application on its desktop site later this spring. Customers will not be automatically signed up for the credit card -- rather, it is simply an offer they will receive while purchasing tickets through the company's website, and, if they choose to take up on the offer, they will need to complete an application.

The No. 1 ranked WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard allows cardholders to earn 1.5 per cent in WestJet dollars for every dollar spent on everyday purchases and 2 per cent on WestJet flights or WestJet Vacations packages. WestJet dollars can be used like cash toward the purchase of WestJet flights and vacations packages on any day, at any time and to any WestJet destination with no blackout periods -- even on seat sales.

The WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard also allows the primary cardholder to take a companion on a round-trip flight on the same itinerary starting from $99 (depending on route), plus taxes, fees and charges on any WestJet-marketed and operated flight anywhere in the WestJet network. In addition to the companion voucher, the card also provides the first checked bag at no charge for the primary cardholder as well as up to eight additional guests travelling on the same booking.
