Mr. Tim Towers reports
ADDITIONAL HIGH GRADE IN NEW TRENCHES AT THE LA CUMBRE SILVER/GOLD PROPERTY MEXICO; 7.82 G/T GOLD AND 817 G/T SILVER OVER 0.25M
Silver Shield Resources Corp. has sampled additional high-grade
gold and silver in the La Cumbre West zone. Sampling taken 22 metres
west of the shaft, in a sheared malachite stained vein, returned an
average of 2.08 grams per tonne gold, 198.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.14 per cent copper over a trench sample width of 1.75 metres, and the central high-grade interval ran 7.82 grams per tonne gold, 817 grams per tonne silver and 0.29 per cent copper over 0.25 metre.
Additional trenching in the La Cumbre East zone, 32 metres east of the shaft, returned values of 0.455 gram per tonne gold, 250.5 grams per tonne silver and 0.93 per cent copper over one metre. The presence of these excellent values gold and silver both east and
west of the shaft, taken in conjunction with the previously released
high-grade samples 400 metres north of the shaft confirms to the company
the existence of a large system on the La Cumbre property.
Company officials have been in discussions with contract miners
in Mexico to enable a mine development plan to be developed. This
development plan will include drifting on the 50-metre level for
approximately 300 metres with development in mineralized vein material
producing around 3,000 tonnes. Upon metallurgical testing being successful,
this mineralized material will then be trucked to an existing mill
approximately 120 kilometres away to be processed. The company plans to use
this drifting to enable a targeted exploration drill program from
underground to be performed. Surface drilling as well is being planned
at the same time in early 2012. These programs will further expand the
previous mineralized lens identified and mined in the 1980s.
The company remains on its focused path striving to mine and mill
mineralized material as soon as economically feasible to produce cash
flow and finance future mining and exploration internally.
The La Cumbre silver-gold mine is a past producer situated in an area
with numerous past producers and producers, being only 65 kilometres southwest
of Farallon Resources Campo Morado mine (VMS) and 100 kilometres west of
Goldcorp's Los Filos mine (gold).
