SIERRA METALS ANNOUNCES REALIGNMENT OF OPERATING LEADERSHIP TEAM AND THE DEPARTURE OF GORDON BABCOCK, CHIEF OPERATING
Sierra Metals Inc. has agreed with Gordon Babcock that he resign as chief operating officer in favour of pursuing opportunities. The effective date of his departure will be Aug. 16, 2019.
Alonso Lujan, vice-president of exploration and the country manager for Mexico, and Miguel Paucar, country manager of Peru, will take over Mr. Babcock's responsibilities and report directly to the president and chief executive officer, Igor Gonzales.
J. Alberto Arias, chairman of the board of directors for Sierra Metals, commented: "On behalf of the company and the board of directors, I would like to thank Gordon for his many efforts in helping to improve the company's operations, growth, efficiency and safety over the past four years. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours."
