REVETT MINERALS TO BE ADDED TO S&P/TSX SMALL CAP INDEX

Revett Minerals Inc. will be added to the S&P/TSX Small Cap Index, effective after the close of trading on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011.

John Shanahan, president and chief executive officer, stated, "In addition to being included in the Russell 3000 Index in June of this year, we feel that our inclusion in the S&P/TSX Index will continue to increase our exposure to new investors and broaden our shareholder base."
