James Dines, writing in the July 15, 2011, issue of The Dines Letter, refreshes his buy of Rare Element Resources Ltd. at $9.53. The editor has recommended the company four times between Aug. 14, 2009, and June 10, 2011, at prices ranging from $2.25 to $9.56. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the four buys, the investment would now be worth $8,843. Mr. Dines mentions Rare Element only briefly in this issue, saying the company is waiting for summer drilling results for its Bear Lodge rare earth project in Wyoming. The editor says he expects no meaningful deviation from previous positive results. Elsewhere in the newsletter, he pats himself on the back for predicting 15 years ago that food can be addictive. He says his prediction was recently corroborated by David Linden in his new book, The Compass of Pleasure. Mr. Dines says also notes that as obesity rises in America, so do type II diabetes and high blood pressure. He points out that Alabama has the highest levels of obesity, while Colorado, he says, is the "caboose on the nation's huffing, puffing train to fatland."
