Nevada Clean identifies final designs for pilot furnace

2016-10-24 10:33 ET - News Release

Mr. Edward Lee reports

NEVADA CLEAN MAGNESIUM PROVIDES FURNACE UPDATE

Nevada Clean Magnesium Inc. is providing a fabrication update of the bench-scale pilot furnace currently being completed in Fort St. John, B.C., by Lindon Enterprises Ltd.

A recent site visit and subsequent meetings conducted by James Sever, chief operating officer and director of the company, with the fabricators of the furnace identified final design details of the furnace and condenser. These modifications were motivated by the positive test work that was conducted on the Tami-Mosi dolomite by the University of Colorado which demonstrated the reactiveness of the dolime as being 100 per cent with both the base-case reductant of ferro silicon and the identified alternate reductant.

The additional pieces of equipment and instrumentation needed to operate the furnace and produce magnesium were identified and sourced. Also addressed were the logistics for operating the furnace such as when and where.

Mr. Sever states: "The bench-scale test work provided engineering details. Operating this pilot furnace using both reductants will provide a quantity of magnesium metal for evaluation of metal quality and will confirm the engineering data required to satisfy the proof of concept required for the National Instrument 43-101 prefeasibility report. Once this work is complete, testing will begin to achieve a continuous processing operation."

Photos of the furnace and of the recent verification work can be viewed on the company's website.

About Nevada Clean Magnesium
