MERCATOR MINERALS PROVIDES UPDATE ON COMBINATION WITH INTERGEO

Mercator Minerals Ltd. has received correspondence from the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Services (FAS) in connection with the company's application made with FAS (as specified in the company's June 2, 2014, press release), which is in respect to the proposed business combination between Mercator and Intergeo MMC Ltd. announced on Dec. 12, 2013.

FAS has requested a two-month extension of its review of Mercator's application, which is in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation, and has requested further information in connection with its review of the application.

Completion of the arrangement remains subject to final acceptance of the arrangement by the Toronto Stock Exchange and the satisfaction or waiver of all remaining conditions precedent, all of which are proceeding. Mercator will continue to provide updates as the arrangement advances toward completion.
