LED MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS ANNOUNCES APPLE IPOD INTEGRATION FOR THE AWARD-WINNING VELSCOPE VX

LED Medical Diagnostics Inc. has launched the new VELscope Vx imaging adapter and VELscope photo system application from subsidiary LED Dental, delivering integration of the VELscope Vx with the Apple iPod Touch for clinical photographic documentation and secure image-sharing oral lesions. Available starting June 15, the new system can be purchased through LED Dental's VELscope dealer network.

The system comprises a custom-designed Apple iPod Touch holder and state-of-the-art imaging application that make framing and acquiring both tissue fluorescence and white-light clinical images simple and intuitive. Wireless network performance is drastically improved over the previous VELscope Vx camera system. Images can be easily shared via wireless networking or by attaching the Apple iPod Touch sync cable to a laptop or desktop workstation. Images can also be tagged with a clinical description for improved case collaboration between health care providers.

The user interface of the VELscope photo system application is designed to be exceptionally user-friendly. The VELscope photo system application (available from the Apple App Store) automatically configures the Apple iPod Touch for capturing fluorescence visualization images when the adapter is attached to the VELscope Vx. Once the device is removed from the VELscope, the app instantly updates image settings for white-light photography with no manual configurations required for flash or continuous illumination image capture.
