Jay Taylor, in the Jan. 14, 2016, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, says buy Klondex Mines Ltd., recently $2.79. Mr. Taylor said buy six times from Dec. 16, 2010, to May 15, 2015, at prices ranging from $1.19 to $3.10. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each of the six buys, the $6,000 position would now be worth $8,810. Klondex produced 32,076 ounces of gold in the third quarter of 2015 from its two mines in Nevada. The average grade was 0.48 ounce per ton with 94-per-cent recoveries. The gold producer is acquiring the Rice Lake gold mine, which has a measured and indicated resource of 634,000 ounces gold. Previously, San Gold went into bankruptcy when it failed to produce gold profitably from Rice Lake. Mr. Taylor thinks San Gold made a mistake of trying to produce as many ounces as possible without sufficient regard for grade. On the other hand, Klondex's focus has always been on mining high-grade structures from underground. The Rice Lake transaction is expected to close some time during this quarter. The editor says this deal is much like Klondex's purchase of the Midas mine from Newmont, which is working out well. Klondex is one of Mr. Taylor's favourite gold stocks; buy.
