GLOBAL ALUMINA ANNOUNCES ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Global Alumina Corp.'s board of directors has determined the annual general meeting of the company's shareholders will take place on Sept. 6, 2012. The record date for the determination of shareholders entitled to receive notice of and vote at the annual general meeting has been fixed as Aug. 3, 2012. Further particulars regarding the specific time and venue for the meeting will be provided in the management information circular and proxy statement that is expected to be sent to shareholders of record in August.
