Cyprium appoints Mundo manager, finance, in Mexico

2016-06-01 07:43 ET - News Release

Mr. Alain Lambert reports

CYPRIUM MINING CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN MANAGEMENT TEAM

Cyprium Mining Corp. has appointed Rosario Mundo as manager of finance and administration of all its operations in Mexico. A graduate of the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua as certified public accountant, Ms. Mundo has almost 20 years of experience in the mining sector in Mexico, having worked in senior positions for various subsidiaries of Goldcorp Inc. for nearly 10 years, and more recently with Minefinders Corp. Ltd. and Coeur Mining Inc. Ms. Mundo also has completed postgraduate studies in business financing and personnel management. Reporting directly to Cyprium's chief executive officer, Ms. Mundo will be responsible for accounting, tax matters, audits, financial reporting and budgeting, internal controls, payroll, and costs control.

Alain Lambert, chairman and chief executive officer of Cyprium, commented: "I have never subscribed to the notion that a junior mining companies can have its most senior employees located in a different country than where its operations are situated. On the contrary, I firmly believe that the senior operational staff should be not only based but also recruited locally. Mexico is a vibrant mining jurisdiction and Chihuahua is a major urban centre with a population of almost one million people which facilitates recruitment. Cyprium has the additional advantage that its main project, the development and exploration of the historic Potosi silver mine, is a short 30-minute trip from downtown Chihuahua which is a shorter commute than in most large North American cities. Ms. Mundo is a resident of Chihuahua, and, as I personally spend most of my time at our Chihuahua office, I look forward to working closely with Ms. Mundo on a daily basis."

Cyprium also announces that Alejandro Anchondo, formerly project and operations manager, has been given additional responsibilities and will now have the title of business development and operations manager. The expanded role for Mr. Anchondo will see him being responsible for overseeing and supervising Cyprium's mining and processing activities, and employee matters and day-to-day dealings with outside contractors.
