Globe says Gallucci now targets Cline at 50 cents

2012-10-18 07:21 ET - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that Dundee Securities analyst Joseph Gallucci says given the current weakness in the metallurgical coal market, it may take until the middle of next year for Cline Mining (16.5 cents) to solve its liquidity concerns and secure coal sales. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Gallucci continues to believe that the company's New Elk mine in Colorado is an attractive long-life asset. The analyst, however, downgraded Cline to "neutral" from "buy," given risks that it will not be able to find a buyer for its coal. He cut his price target to 50 cents from 90 cents. Jennings Capital analyst Russell Stanley upgraded his 12-month target by $1.50 to $5.50 and maintained a "speculative buy" recommendation in the Eye column on Dec. 31, 2010, when Cline was worth $4.04. LDIC boss Michael Decter said buy Cline in The Globe on Feb. 4, 2011. It was then worth $4.36. Mr. Decter said Cline in The Globe on Feb. 28, 2011, when it was trading at $3.52. In the item Mr. Decter said Cline was worth $6 to $7 a share, and as much as $8 a share in a takeover. Mr. Stanley said buy Cline in The Globe on April 19, 2011, when it was worth $3.49.
