BIG ROCK'S FOWL MOUTH ESB: BACK TO STAY
Big Rock Brewery Inc. is reintroducing Loud Mouth ESB (extra special bitter) as
part of its signature series.
"Everyone loved it. And this is the purpose of the Brewmaster's limited
edition series. If you love it we'll bring it back," said Big Rock
brewmaster Paul Gautreau.
Originally rolled out in January, 2014, to rave reviews, Fowl Mouth ESB
is brewed using British hops Progress and East
Kent Goldings. It opens with sweet malty flavours, followed by notes of
dark fruit, giving way to a dry, earthy hop bitterness.
The bite and aroma come from the hops. The caramel malts produce its
distinctive rich amber colour.
"I am a malt guy. It is nice to have a beer you can still appreciate the
malt flavour without losing it to the hops," said Mr. Gautreau.
As with every great beer brewed by Big Rock, there's always a story
behind it. The idea for this brew came when Mr. Gautreau and the company's chief executive officer travelled to a popular beer festival in Falmouth, United Kingdom. There, they found
packed beer tents, 98 per cent of them blokes, plenty of lively banter, where
bitter is still the pride of the pub. Fowl Mouth bitter is a nod to the
lively blokes of Falmouth -- Big Rock style!
Fowl Mouth ESB is available in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.
