Mr. Wm. Ernest Simmons reports
IDAHO COURT GRANTS ATLANTA GOLD EXTENSION OF TIME TO PAY PENALTY
The U.S. District Court for the State of
Idaho has granted to Atlanta Gold Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Atlanta
Gold Corp. (AGC), a six-month extension of the time to pay the
$2-million (U.S.) court-imposed penalty from Oct. 31, 2012, to April 30,
2013. The outstanding penalty will bear interest at approximately 10 per cent
per annum from Nov. 28, 2012, until it is paid in full. The penalty
pertains to AGC's non-compliance with the United States Federal Water
Pollution Control Act with respect to treatment of water discharge at
the historic 900 level adit located near Atlanta, in Elmore county,
Idaho.
The installation and commissioning of an innovative water treatment
system have been completed by Atlanta. This new system has allowed AGC
to consistently meet the effluent standards over the past few weeks.
Management believes this new system will prove useful to others in
Idaho who have been having difficulty meeting water effluent standards.
