The International Speculator, in its Nov. 7, 2014, issue, downgrades Atac Resources Ltd. (recently 49 cents) to a hold from a buy. This is the newsletter's second time round with the stock. The Speculator said buy in January, 2004, at 34 cents, and again in September, 2004, at 20.5 cents. It then said sell in April, 2005, at 17 cents. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each buy, selling the $2,000 position at 17 cents yielded a loss of $711. Much later, the Speculator said buy five more times, between Dec. 1, 2011, and Jan. 6, 2014, at prices ranging from 59 cents to $3.39. Assuming another investment of $1,000 for each of the five buys, the $5,000 holding is worth $2,426. The writer notes Atac released surface-work numbers that open up more mineralization on the already-multizone Rackla gold project in central Yukon. This month the Speculator's usual emphasis on buy advice has been replaced with holds and sells. It says buy nothing, hold great companies, sell weaklings ... wait "to buy near a new, much lower bottom -- or in a month or two, when the present danger has passed."
