Mr. Gordon Deans reports
JONAS & REDMANN AND ACT AURORA
CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES CREATE PARTNERSHIP
TO INCREASE PV PRODUCTION LINE
PROFITABILITY
Jonas &
Redmann Group GmbH and ACT Aurora Control Technologies
Corp. have reached an agreement to
integrate Aurora's Decima in-line measurement products with Jonas & Redmann's
photovoltaic wafer and cell production equipment.
The combination of Jonas & Redmann's automation technology with Aurora's in-line
measurement products brings together Aurora's real-time mapping of critical-to-quality wafer parameters with Jonas & Redmann's high-throughput production tool
loading and unloading. PV manufacturers can easily implement automatic, efficient
measures to eliminate wasteful processing associated with substandard materials,
and optimize production tool operation to improve the yield of high-quality wafers
and reduce rejects. They will also benefit from continuous wafer measurement for
process tuning and optimization of plant operations.
Initial integration and installation of the companies' combined products are now
under way with a major integrated wafer, cell and module manufacturer located in
Asia.
"Aurora's Decima products are an ideal fit with our diffusion and wet bench wafer
handling products," said Dr. Stephan Rehbehn, director, sales and project
management, at Jonas & Redmann. "By combining our products, PV wafer and cell
manufacturers will be able to readily maximize their production line yields and
throughput, providing a lower cost of ownership and higher profitability from
manufacturing operations."
"Jonas & Redmann is a recognized and sought-after worldwide leader in automation
and turnkey manufacturing line design, with over 1,700 successful installations
worldwide," said Gordon Deans, Aurora's president and chief executive officer. "We expect this
relationship will benefit manufacturers and accelerate the adoption of Aurora's
products in the photovoltaic market, especially throughout Asia."
We seek Safe Harbor.
