Two capital pool shells have completed their initial public offerings and listed their shares on the exchange. One is Bryan Van Engelen's first capital pool shell, MJ Innovation Capital Corp. (MSMJ), which sold a $400,000 IPO at 20 cents through Canaccord Genuity Corp. The other is Gordon Wiebe's first capital pool shell, Sun Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (SRES), which sold a $500,000 IPO at 10 cents through Raymond James Ltd. Not unusually for capital pool shells, MJ Innovation and Sun Residential did not trade today.
MJ Innovation's Mr. Van Engelen, 32, is a senior digital marketing specialist with Sun Life Financial Inc. (SLF: $52.62). He has been with Sun Life for a year now. He lives in Waterloo, Ont., and previously worked for seven years at BlackBerry Ltd. (BB: $9.22), first as a technical administrator and later as a senior digital marketing analyst.
