The TSX Venture Exchange closed up 1.68 points to 587.84 Thursday. Mark Sumner has filed an amended preliminary prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, Daura Capital Corp. The shell still plans to sell a $200,000 initial public offering at 10 cents through Leede Jones Gable Inc. The amendment is that the shell has identified a potential qualifying transaction target already.
The fast-moving Daura Capital originally said it would seek a mining QT. It now discloses that it is working on a potential deal with Estrella Gold SAC, a private company with a 7,500-hectare gold project in Peru's Ancash region. There are no terms yet, but if this deal closes, then the insiders of the resulting issuer will include Diego Cilloniz and Ernesto Osorio.
Mr. Cilloniz is a lawyer, whose work involves mining and energy companies. He is a founding partner of Cilloniz & Valencia Abogados S Civil de RL, a law firm in Lima, Peru. From 2011 to 2013, he was the regional legal counsel in Peru, Chile and Honduras for Nyrstar NV, a miner based in Belgium.
