The TSX Venture Exchange fell 8.54 points to 602.02 Thursday. David Henderson's first capital pool shell, CE Brands Inc. (CEBI: $0.28), has listed after closing a $500,000 initial public offering at 10 cents. Its stock reached an intraday high of 34 cents before closing at 28 cents on 166,500 shares. This volume is higher than usual for a capital pool shell, but note that it includes 100,000 shares crossed by Mackie Research Capital Corp. at 27 cents.
Mr. Henderson, 39, is a geological consultant. From 2005 to 2013, he managed a Calgary company called Henderson & Associates Petroleum Consultants Ltd. He sold that company in 2013 to Maxxam Analytics Inc., an energy and environmental lab. He then joined Maxxam and was its general manager of geoscience for a few years. These days, Mr. Henderson is the director of geoscience at Enersoft Inc., a geological software company. He is also the chief executive officer of Line King Highways Corp., a supplier of highway signs and of parking lot painting services. He is living in The Blue Mountains, a town in Southwestern Ontario. CE Brands is his first public company directorship.
