The TSX Venture Exchange closed up 1.82 points to 610.69 Friday, ending the week up 1.48 points. Mark Orsmond's third capital pool shell, Danacore Industries Inc. (DANA: halted), plans to acquire Bay Talent Group Inc. for the shell's qualifying transaction. Bay Talent is a recruitment firm. The acquisition terms are not yet available, but the target plans to raise up to $5-million in connection with its going public.
Bay Talent was formed in 2017, not as a recruitment agency but as an acquirer of recruitment agencies. It has since acquired two of those, both in Toronto: Provision IT Resources Ltd. (also known as Provision Staffing) and PTC Accounting and Finance Inc. (also known as PTC Recruiting).
Provision Staffing was founded in 2002 by Bob Spiers, who previously spent 12 years working in information technology staffing with Asset Computer Personnel Ltd. He is now with Bay Talent, leading both Provision Staffing and PTC Recruiting.
